Hamarikyu Gardens
An Edo daimyo garden with a seawater pond — and skyscrapers on every side.
Between the towers of Shiodome and Tokyo Bay lies a feudal lord's garden whose pond fills with tidal seawater from the bay. Have matcha and a sweet at Nakajima-no-ochaya, the tea house on the water, and watch the glass towers reflected beside 300-year-old pines. From here a river bus runs to Asakusa.
