The golfer's version of our Beppu stay. Two nights in the lodge inside Beppu Golf Club — an open-air onsen, clubhouse breakfast and, as a Dokumo perk, a bonus nine holes for every lodge night — then two nights at Kamenoi Hotel Beppu, three minutes from the station, with its onsen and buffet breakfast. All the golf falls on days 2 and 3 while you stay at the lodge: 18 holes plus the bonus nine each day — 27 holes on the Yufu course, 27 on the Tsurumi course, 54 in total — green fee and cart included, self-play with the cart on the fairways. A driver-guide and vehicle move you between lodge, town and course; one day is free for the hells, Hyotan Onsen or Yufuin. Lodge dinners (assorted sashimi & tempura, or shabu-shabu) can be pre-booked. Runs on weekdays, October 13, 2026 – March 27, 2027; priced per person for a party of four, parties of two or three welcome.

Day 01
Arrive Oita (Beppu) · Beppu Golf Club lodge
We meet you at Oita Airport and drive you to the lodge inside Beppu Golf Club. Settle in, open-air onsen, pre-booked lodge dinner. No golf today.
Day 02
Yufu course — 27 holes
18 holes on the Yufu course from your door, cart on the fairways, plus your first bonus nine in the afternoon (27 holes). Open-air onsen and lodge dinner.
Day 03
Tsurumi course — 27 holes · move to Kamenoi Hotel
18 holes on the Tsurumi course plus the second bonus nine (27 holes), then the driver-guide takes you into town to Kamenoi Hotel Beppu, three minutes from the station. Hotel onsen and dinner in Beppu.
Day 04
Free day — the hells of Beppu
No golf: by local bus from Beppu station to Umi Jigoku and Kamado Jigoku, Hyotan Onsen, or a half-day in Yufuin. Routes and restaurants from your designer.
Day 05
Departure
Breakfast, then the transfer from the hotel to Oita Airport for your flight.

Passport & Entry
US citizens can visit Japan visa-free for up to 90 days. Your passport just needs to be valid for the length of your stay. Fill out Visit Japan Web before you fly to skip the paper forms.
Airport Arrival
Most US flights land at Haneda (closer) or Narita (about 60–90 min out). Your trip includes a private transfer — your driver meets you at arrivals with a name board.

Getting Around
Tokyo's trains are the best in the world and Google Maps handles them perfectly. Trains stop around midnight; taxis are clean, safe, and take cards.

One tap-to-pay card covers every train, bus, vending machine, and convenience store. Yours comes preloaded, or add Suica to Apple Wallet before you leave home.
Cash & Cards
Cards work almost everywhere now, but small izakaya and shrines are cash-only. 7-Eleven ATMs accept US cards. ¥10,000–20,000 in cash per person is plenty to start.
Tipping Etiquette
Don't tip — anywhere, ever. It's not rude to skip it; it's rude to insist. Great service is the default and it's already in the price.
Restaurant Etiquette
Wait to be seated, say 'sumimasen' to call staff, and slurping noodles is fine. Many small places seat 8–10 people — that's the charm, not a downgrade.
Luggage Forwarding
Japan's takkyubin service ships your suitcase hotel-to-hotel (or to the airport) overnight for about $15. Travel with a day bag and let your luggage meet you there.
Emergency Information
Dial 110 for police, 119 for ambulance/fire. Japan is one of the safest countries on earth. Your 24/7 English support line is on your trip card for anything at all.
Japanese Basics
Konnichiwa (hello), arigatou gozaimasu (thank you), sumimasen (excuse me / sorry / call the waiter — the most useful word in Japan). English signage is everywhere in Tokyo.
