Overview
Beppu is Japan's hot-spring capital, and Kamenoi Hotel is its signature address — three minutes' walk from Beppu station, with its own onsen and a buffet breakfast every morning. From here we take you to Beppu Golf Club, the only 36-hole course in the city, for one round on the Yufu course and one on the Tsurumi course: green fee and cart included, self-play, and — for Dokumo guests only — the cart may drive onto the fairways on every hole. A driver-guide and vehicle handle the two golf days (days 2 and 3); day 4 is yours for the hells of Kannawa, Hyotan Onsen or a bus ride to Yufuin. As a Dokumo perk, after one of the rounds you receive a 60-minute private (kashikiri) onsen at Hyotan Onsen, with the local bus back to the station. Runs on weekdays, October 13, 2026 – March 27, 2027; priced per person for a party of four, parties of two or three welcome.

Daily itinerary
Day 01
Arrive Oita (Beppu) · Kamenoi Hotel
We meet you at Oita Airport and drive you to Kamenoi Hotel Beppu, three minutes from the station. Hotel onsen and a first dinner in town.
Day 02
Beppu Golf Club — Yufu course
Driver-guide from the hotel to Beppu Golf Club for 18 holes on the Yufu course, cart on the fairways. Back to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 03
Beppu Golf Club — Tsurumi course
18 holes on the Tsurumi course with the driver-guide. Afterwards, your 60-minute private (kashikiri) onsen at Hyotan Onsen, then the local bus back to the station; optional private onsen and dinner at the club (see add-ons).
Day 04
Free day — the hells of Beppu
By local bus from Beppu station: Umi Jigoku and Kamado Jigoku, a soak at Hyotan Onsen, or a half-day in Yufuin. We give you the routes and the restaurants.
Day 05
Departure
Breakfast, then the transfer from the hotel to Oita Airport for your flight.

Passport & Entry

Getting Around

Cash & Cards
Cards work almost everywhere now, but small izakaya and shrines are cash-only. 7-Eleven ATMs accept US cards. ¥10,000–20,000 in cash per person is plenty to start.
Tipping Etiquette
Don't tip — anywhere, ever. It's not rude to skip it; it's rude to insist. Great service is the default and it's already in the price.
Restaurant Etiquette
Wait to be seated, say 'sumimasen' to call staff, and slurping noodles is fine. Many small places seat 8–10 people — that's the charm, not a downgrade.
Luggage Forwarding
Japan's takkyubin service ships your suitcase hotel-to-hotel (or to the airport) overnight for about $15. Travel with a day bag and let your luggage meet you there.

Japanese Basics
Konnichiwa (hello), arigatou gozaimasu (thank you), sumimasen (excuse me / sorry / call the waiter — the most useful word in Japan). English signage is everywhere in Tokyo.
