Overview

Start from a five-star garden hotel whose grounds are larger than Tokyo Dome. You spend one night in a Prime Superior room at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, then a private driver in a Toyota Alphard takes you from the hotel to Asagiri Country Club or Fuji Classic for 18 holes of self-play with green fee and cart included, and back again. Weekday rates for a party of 4: Asagiri CC from $549 per person, Fuji Classic from $624. Rates may increase in the April–June and October peak seasons, so the Dokumo team confirms your price when you ask. Caddies are available from $130 per group of 4. The 2027 season runs from March 24 to November 19; weekends, Japanese holidays and stays of 2 nights or longer are quoted on request.

Before You Go

Everything Americans ask us

The practical stuff, answered before you think to ask. Full guides come with your booking.

Passport & Entry

US citizens can visit Japan visa-free for up to 90 days. Your passport just needs to be valid for the length of your stay. Fill out Visit Japan Web before you fly to skip the paper forms.

Airport Arrival

Most US flights land at Haneda (closer) or Narita (about 60–90 min out). Your trip includes a private transfer — your driver meets you at arrivals with a name board.

eSIM & Connectivity

An unlimited-data eSIM is included with your trip. We send the QR code before departure — activate it when you land and you're online at the gate.

Getting Around

Tokyo's trains are the best in the world and Google Maps handles them perfectly. Trains stop around midnight; taxis are clean, safe, and take cards.

IC Card (Suica)

One tap-to-pay card covers every train, bus, vending machine, and convenience store. Yours comes preloaded, or add Suica to Apple Wallet before you leave home.

Cash & Cards

Cards work almost everywhere now, but small izakaya and shrines are cash-only. 7-Eleven ATMs accept US cards. ¥10,000–20,000 in cash per person is plenty to start.

Tipping Etiquette

Don't tip — anywhere, ever. It's not rude to skip it; it's rude to insist. Great service is the default and it's already in the price.

Restaurant Etiquette

Wait to be seated, say 'sumimasen' to call staff, and slurping noodles is fine. Many small places seat 8–10 people — that's the charm, not a downgrade.

Luggage Forwarding

Japan's takkyubin service ships your suitcase hotel-to-hotel (or to the airport) overnight for about $15. Travel with a day bag and let your luggage meet you there.

Emergency Information

Dial 110 for police, 119 for ambulance/fire. Japan is one of the safest countries on earth. Your 24/7 English support line is on your trip card for anything at all.

Japanese Basics

Konnichiwa (hello), arigatou gozaimasu (thank you), sumimasen (excuse me / sorry / call the waiter — the most useful word in Japan). English signage is everywhere in Tokyo.
